I don't mean to be rude; as with all programs what's really important is the tool itself, but adding some nice touches like a good looking GUI would improve the selling potential of this program (IMO)
Each standard program with long operations should have a worker thread and the work should not be processed on the same thread as the main windows. Othervise the program stops responding.
